American University of Cyprus Students Returned with Awards at EMU Sand Sculpture Festival

The Sand Sculpture Festival and Competition organized by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) was held on Sunday, October 13 between 10.00 – 18.00 at EMU Marine Facilities. The students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the American University of Cyprus achieved great success in this prestigious competition in which they participated as two groups. While one group won the 2nd prize, the other group was awarded the 4th prize.

American University of Cyprus, Faculty of Fine Arts always encourages its students to participate in artistic and creative activities. In this context, Head of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Associate Professor Dr. Buğu Şah and Assistant Professor Dr. Ediz Oraç, who supported the students throughout the competition, expressed their pride in their students.

Both academicians stated that the success of their students in such competitions reinforces their contribution to education and art.
