AUC Students Did Not Leave the Children Alone This Year As Well.
American University of Cyprus (AUC) students continue to raise awareness in social responsibility projects. Under the leadership of Visual Communication Design Department Lecturer Dr. Emel Yılmaz, there were moments of joy at the “Hello to the New Year” event held for the students of the Cyprus Turkish Child Protection Agency (KTÇEK) within the scope of the Communication Skills Course.
In the “Hello to the New Year” project, which took place for the second time this year within the scope of the Communication Skills Course under the leadership of Visual Communication Design Department Lecturer Dr. Emel Yılmaz, the New Year gifts and stationery needs of 50 children in the 8-11 age group studying at KTÇEK were met.
KAU Department of Visual Communication Design Faculty Member Dr. Emel Yılmaz, who is also the President of the Lefke Relief and People’s Association, said that in the project, which lasted for four weeks, firstly; in cooperation with the association, a Charity Bazaar was organized with KAU students on the KAU Campus, where local handicrafts were exhibited, and the gifts purchased as a result of the income obtained were presented to KTÇEK Administrative Coordinator Ali Birsen. KAU Rector Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci congratulated the students who took part in the implementation and implementation of the “Hello to the New Year” project led by Dr. Emel Yılmaz for their sensitive work and wished them continued success.
