Information Technology (with Thesis)

The Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Information Technology program at the American University of Cyprus is designed to deliver advanced, graduate-level education in cutting-edge computing and information technologies. This program addresses the growing global demand for IT professionals who can integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills to design, develop, implement, and manage complex IT systems.

Structured around a project-based learning approach, the program serves both recent graduates seeking a career in the IT sector and working professionals aiming to deepen their expertise. The curriculum encompasses core areas of IT including systems and database design, client/server and desktop applications, web development, web services, network architecture, and the ethical dimensions of technology use.

The program comprises seven elective courses, a graduate seminar, and a thesis, ensuring a balance between coursework, research, and practical experience.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management of Information Systems, or a closely related field.

Candidates from other disciplines may be required to complete a series of deficiency or bridging courses, as determined by the Information Technology Graduate Committee, based on their academic background. In such cases, applicants may also be invited to attend an interview conducted by the committee, after which admission decisions and required preparatory coursework will be finalized.
