Tourism Management

The Tourism Management undergraduate program aims to prepare our students in the best way possible for lower and middle management positions in the tourism sector. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of the sector today as well as its development and aim to prepare students for the future while guiding them to produce creative and innovative ideas. With the advantage provided by the education program supported by practice, students will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of career options in the tourism sector after graduation.

The mission of the Tourism Management Program is to cultivate intellectually developed experts and a skilled workforce that can address the long-term needs of the global tourism sector and its related fields. In addition to meeting industry demands and preparing students for professional life, our programs inspire creativity and innovation. Through a curriculum enriched with hands-on opportunities, our students are equipped to pursue a wide range of career paths upon graduation.

Our vision is to be recognized as the premier Tourism Faculty in the Mediterranean region, where every graduate is fully prepared for and actively engaged in the professional world.

General Information

The medium of instruction is English. In addition, our students undertake English courses during the first two years of their studies, focusing on improving both their language skills and sector-specific terminology. Students can also choose elective courses to study a second language. Our curriculum includes practical experience opportunities at renowned hotels and other institutions nationwide.

The Tourism Management undergraduate program, known for its high-quality education in tourism, hospitality, and recreation management, strives to be the leading educational institution in the region. Its goal is to prepare future managers who not only generate knowledge but also possess the ability and skills to apply this knowledge effectively. Additionally, the program aims to equip students for success in one of the most promising sectors of the future.

Facilities

  • Computer Labs: Two fully equipped computer labs with multimedia, Internet, and email facilities are available to students for their academic work.
  • Multimedia Lab: In-class learning is enhanced through the integration of multimedia, supporting a dynamic and interactive educational experience.
  • Training Kitchen: This training kitchen offers students in the Tourism Management programs the opportunity to gain in-depth experience in the operation and management of a professional kitchen.

Career Opportunities

Our graduates have access to a broad range of career opportunities within the tourism sector. Potential employers include transportation companies, airlines (e.g., flight attendants, ground services), marine companies (e.g., cruise ships), international hotel chains, tourism operators, and travel agencies, to name just a few. Students in the Tourism Management Program gain hands-on experience through internships at renowned 5 and 4-star hotels and high-end holiday villages in Turkey, the TRNC, and abroad (e.g., Hilton, Sheraton, Swissotel, Marriott, Kempinski, Radisson SAS, Holiday Inn, Merit, and Dedeman), as well as major airline companies like Turkish Airlines and Atlasjet, and travel agencies such as ETS Tour and Puzzle Travel. After completing their internships, many graduates are offered employment with these organizations. Graduates also have the option to continue their studies by enrolling in postgraduate programs offered by the Faculty of Tourism at AUC.
