AUC 2024-2025 Spring Term Graduation Ceremony was held
The American University of Cyprus (AUC) held its 2024-2025 Academic Year Spring Term Graduation Ceremony with great enthusiasm and pride. The ceremony was held at 19:30 on the evening of June 03 at KAU Alayköy Campus. Protocol, academicians, parents and many guests attended the ceremony where associate and undergraduate graduates received their diplomas.
The ceremony started with the graduation walk accompanied by KAU Rector Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci and university academicians. After the moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, opening speeches were made. At the ceremony, on behalf of the 2024-2025 Academic Year Spring Semester graduates, Joe Trokon Zaway Jr. from the Department of Law made a speech.
In his speech, KAU Rector Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci stated that they are proud to send off their new graduates by reaching the eighth year of the university and said, “As the American University of Cyprus, we have come a long way in eight years. In addition to our academic achievements; We continue our goal of building a better society with our social responsibility awareness, environmental awareness and the importance we attach to human rights. We believe that our graduates will start their lives as individuals equipped with these values.” Keçeci emphasized that the success of the graduates is of great value not only for KAU but also for the country and wished them success.
KAU Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alp Karaca said in his speech: “Our students, who have completed an important stage of their education life here today, will shape not only their own lives but also the society with the knowledge, skills and values they have acquired.
Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu made the following statements in his speech: “It is a great source of happiness for us to have the American University of Cyprus (KAU), which increases its quality of education day by day, within our borders. KAU stands out not only with its academic achievements but also with its social responsibility projects that instill in its students the love of human, animal and nature. Happily, KAU students donated the proceeds from the bazaar they organized last month with their lecturers to the animal shelter and we are determined to continue our cooperation between institutions.
