AUC and Ras AI Khaimah American University Collaborate on Conference.

INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ORGANIZED IN COOPERATION WITH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF CYPRUS AND RAS AL KHAIIMAH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY
The “International Reclaimed Land Conference” organized in cooperation with the American University of Cyprus and the American University of Ras Al Khaimah was held in the United Arab Emirates between January 15-18.
According to the press release issued by KAU Corporate Communications and Press Office, the opening speeches of the conference, which was organized in cooperation with KAU and the American University of Ras Al Khaimah with the aim of providing valuable insights and mutual learning outcomes from these initiatives by examining case studies from rehabilitated lands around the world, were made by KAU Rector Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci and Dr. David A. Schmidt, Rector of the American University of Ras Al Khaimah.
KAU Rector Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci expressed his satisfaction that the conference, which emphasized the use and redevelopment of rehabilitated lands, their effects on existing marine ecosystems, and the protection of cultural heritage in rehabilitated and redeveloped areas, attracted international attention and said that they aim to continue this successful cooperation between the American University of Ras Al Khaimah and the American University of Cyprus in the future.
On the other hand, KAU academician Prof. Dr. Balkız Yapıcıoğlu took part as a jury member in the international student competition called “In-Between” organized within the scope of the conference as well as the organizing committee. Stating that the conference, which included scientific presentations and competitions, was successfully completed, Prof. Dr. Yapıcıoğlu stated that it was proud that students from Northern Cyprus participated in the international student competition called “In-Between” organized within the scope of the conference. In the competitions, two students from Final University received the second prize and one honorable mention award, while KAU students Cavit Dereli Fatma Erciyas and Asiye Konil received honorable mention awards.
