AUC students compete with kindness.

American University of Cyprus (AUC) students continue to make children happy by bringing goodness to every layer of society through social responsibility projects. Under the leadership of KAU Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Visual Communication Design Faculty Member Dr. Emel Yılmaz, the social responsibility project carried out within the scope of the Communication Skills Course was successfully completed. The project was implemented for children in the Tangül Ünal Çağıner Foundation Love Homes affiliated to the Social Services Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

In the project carried out by Dr. Emel Yılmaz, Lecturer at KAU Department of Visual Communication Design and also the President of Lefke Aid and People’s Association, the shoes and clothes needs of the children in Love Houses were met during the Ramadan Feast. The donation campaign was realized with the contributions of KAU students.

Prof. Dr. Emel Yılmaz emphasized that the student projects carried out every semester within the scope of the Communication Skills Course are of great importance in terms of social responsibility. Yılmaz stated that with the projects, they succeeded in embracing all segments of society, especially children, the elderly, disabled individuals and students. Yılmaz thanked the students who contributed to the four-week project and congratulated them for their successful work.

KAU Rector Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci emphasized that this social responsibility project, which aims to make children happy, is an important step in terms of education. Keçeci thanked the students who took part in the projects carried out under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Emel Yılmaz for their sensitive work and stated that such projects that create social awareness should be continued in every period.
