AUC Students Visited BrewArt Brewery

Students of the Department of Cookery at the American University of Cyprus Vocational School added a new one to their practical training activities that allow them to learn sectoral knowledge and experience on site. American University of Cyprus (AAC) Vocational School Department of Cookery students visited Brewart Local Beer Production Factory within the scope of the technical trip organized to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practice.

The visit, which took place on 6 May 2025, was organized within the framework of the “Beverage Service” course conducted by Buket Özpazarcıoğlu, Instructor of the Department of Cookery. During the technical visit, students had the opportunity to observe the brewing processes on site and learn directly about the local beverage culture. Assist. Assist. Buket Özpazarcıoğlu stated that the detailed explanation of the production processes of beverages by experts contributed greatly to the students’ sectoral knowledge. Özpazarcıoğlu stated that the students also gained comprehensive information about zivaniya, one of the local alcohol types, and emphasized that such practical trainings increase students’ awareness of beverage culture.

Vocational School Director Lecturer. Assist. Merve Akgül stated that such on-site examination opportunities offer students the opportunity to observe the innovations and production techniques in the sector one-on-one and said that it is an important part of AUC’s vision of applied education. Akgül thanked the students who contributed to the organization of the technical trip. Assist. Buket Özpazarcıoğlu and Brewart Local Brewery officials for organizing the technical trip.
