Courtesy Visit from the Civil Defense Organization to AUC

The Rector of Cyprus American University (AUC), Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci, received the President of the Civil Defense Organization, Hakan Balaban, and his delegation at his office and held a meeting.
According to information provided by the AUC Communication and Press Coordination Office, during a courtesy visit held today at 10:30 a.m. at the AUC Alayköy Campus; During the meeting with Civil Defense Organization President Hakan Balaban, Regional Director Mustafa Duyar, and President’s Secretary Güneş Kara, who were part of the delegation, topics such as natural disasters, crisis situations, and wars that could occur in Cyprus were discussed, and the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in these areas was emphasized.
Speaking during the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci noted that Cyprus American University has maintained close cooperation with the Civil Defense Organization (SSTB) since its establishment. She also highlighted KAÜ’s sustainable role in this field as a member of the International Universities Search and Rescue Council, which operates under the SSTB.
Rector Keçeci also stated that the AKUT Search and Rescue Team, operating under the KAÜ Sports Coordination Office, has successfully represented the university with the rankings it has achieved in the Search and Rescue Games it has participated in to date.
The visit concluded with mutual expressions of goodwill and an assessment of potential joint projects that could be carried out in the future.
