International Publication Success by Students American University of Cyprus

Cyprus American University (AUC) undergraduate and graduate students have achieved significant academic success with their articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. The studies prepared within the scope of the Media Theories, Mass Communication Theories, and Media Research Methods courses conducted by Dr. Emel Yılmaz, Faculty Member of the Department of Visual Communication Design, Faculty of Fine Arts, attracted attention by being featured on international scientific platforms.

The articles produced under Yılmaz’s supervision stood out for their original analyses in the fields of media studies, communication theories, and digital culture. Students’ active participation in the scientific production process and their practical application of data collection and academic writing techniques contributed significantly to this success.

AUC students obtaining international publications at the undergraduate level is considered a concrete demonstration of the university’s research-oriented educational approach; it was emphasized that this development has made a significant contribution to both the students’ academic careers and the university’s scientific visibility.

Dr. Emel Yılmaz shared the following words regarding the achievement:

“Every step taken toward academic production lays the foundation for future scientific knowledge. It is a source of great pride for all of us that our students publish internationally.”

In this context, Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci welcomed Dr. Yılmaz and his student delegation to his office and received information about their academic work. During the meeting, the contents of the published articles were evaluated and ideas were exchanged about future research.

Prof. Dr. Keçeci made the following statement during the visit:

“As Cyprus American University, we support scientific production and research-based education. The fact that our students are published in international peer-reviewed journals is an indicator of our university’s academic capacity. Our efforts to increase the number of publications will continue with determination.”

Keçeci thanked all the successful students and Dr. Emel Yılmaz, who managed the process, and announced that support for academic studies would continue. The visit ended with commemorative photos being taken.
