AUC Students Projects Exhibition: Leaving a Mark Beyond Design

The “Student Projects Exhibition” organized by the American University of Cyprus (AUC) Faculty of Fine Arts met with art lovers on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Alayköy Campus. The exhibition, organized within the scope of the Spring Semester, brought together the projects of the students of Visual Communication Design, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Plastic Arts, Ceramics, Glass and Tiling departments. The exhibition, which was highly appreciated by the visitors, presented a beautiful example of creativity and interdisciplinary interaction.
Keçeci: “Exhibitions are a way for our students to express themselves”
KAU Rector and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci, in his speech at the opening of the exhibition, said, “We are very pleased that our students meet with art and design. Such exhibitions are of great importance for them to develop their self-expression skills.” Keçeci stated that the exhibition allows students to reveal their creative potential and express themselves as artists of the future.
Three Dimensional Works from the Department of Ceramics, Glass and Tiling
Students of the Department of Ceramics, Glass and Tiling produced three-dimensional works with plaster material inspired by organic forms in nature within the scope of the “Plaster Mold Forming” course. These creative projects helped students develop their skills in interpreting nature and expressing it in original forms.
Art Practices in the Department of Plastic Arts
Within the scope of the “Art Practices” course in the Department of Plastic Arts, students focused on the process of developing ideas based on their individual interests, conducting research and transforming these ideas into art projects through sketchbooks. The resulting projects attracted attention in terms of originality and creative expression.
Visual Communication Design: Creative Narratives in Children’s Storybooks
Students of the Department of Visual Communication Design designed children’s storybooks within the framework of the “Visual Design” course. These projects, shaped by original illustrations and narratives, were found remarkable both visually and in terms of content. The books, which aim to feed children’s imagination with their colorful and educational content, received full marks from the audience.
Interior Architecture and Environmental Design: Nature Conscious Projects
Students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design presented student recreation area designs as part of the “Environment, Plant and Design Project”. In addition, dormitory room designs within the scope of the “Modular Systems and Ergonomics” course were also included in the exhibition. Both project groups were appreciated by combining functionality and aesthetic understanding.
