Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Purpose of the Program

American University of Cyprus, Faculty of Fine Arts, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Undergraduate Program; It aims to train personnel for the sector and the academic environment in order to meet the need for interior designers who can analyze the relationship between space and people, ensure the positive reflection of quality living environments on human psychology, and combine and develop the space-society relationship.

The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, where an education and training approach appropriate to the needs of the age is adopted in the light of the past, aims to raise students who are responsible, researchers, and gain the knowledge and skills to transform scientific and technological as well as artistic and intellectual dimensions into professional practice.

Mission

It is aimed that the students trained and the projects prepared in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design will be at national and international level. The department’s mission is to train interior architects who are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills, who design creative and livable interiors based on visual perception, who offer solutions that combine aesthetics and function, who prepare contemporary interiors that are comfortable for the user and increase the quality of life, who can create immediate environment design, and who are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills, during the 4-year training program. has acquired.

Registration and Admission Conditions

Within the framework of the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is through the examination system conducted by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Student registration procedures are carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Every year, the Rectorate determines and announces the registration date, required documents and registration places for prospective students who will first register to the University, according to the units. Registration procedures are carried out by the Student Affairs Department. Final registration is not possible with incomplete documents or by mail. Those who are found to have falsified documents are not recorded. If it is determined that the recording has been made by mistake, the recordings will be deleted.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from the American University of Cyprus, Faculty of Fine Arts, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design undergraduate program, a passing grade must be obtained from 50 courses (Local Credit: 146, ECTS: 240) in the 4-year (8 semesters) curriculum and an average of 2.00 or above. and must have successfully completed two internship courses.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates of the American University of Cyprus, Faculty of Fine Arts Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Undergraduate Program can work as Interior Architects and Environmental Designers in private and public institutions or open their own private offices. They have the opportunity to work as academicians in educational and research institutions. They take an active role in the project, design and implementation stages of the interior arrangement of all types of newly designed buildings and the interior renovation of existing buildings.
