Purpose of the Program

The main purpose of this program is to train Turkish Teachers needed in the education systems of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Republic of Turkey. In the field of teacher training and educational sciences, we are contemporary, innovative, open to change, learning to learn, having acquired information society competencies, always focused on success and service to society, Atatürk’s Principles and Principles. It is a department that internalizes the reforms, trains qualified and competent educators, and contributes to social problems related to education with scientific knowledge production and applications. Department of Turkish Language Teaching continues its four-year curriculum by combining contemporary approaches with its deep-rooted experience in both field education and teacher training. In addition to compulsory courses related to the teaching profession and general culture, the program also includes elective courses that students can choose according to their own interests. Turkish Language Teaching Program is one of the programs of the Department of Secondary Education. This teacher training program aims to train Turkish teachers for high schools. Importance will be given to graduates growing up as individuals who are socially sensitive, have the habit of research and questioning, can effectively apply communication technologies and effective teaching methods, constantly renew themselves and have a rich social aspect.

To be an educational institution that can train quality and qualified teachers who can work in institutions and organizations related to Turkish language teaching and can successfully carry out their duties with the disciplined and high-level education provided.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Turkish Language Teaching is to contribute to the training of teachers in the field of Turkish education and the training of personnel in the field of educational sciences, to provide students with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in the increasing competition conditions in the education sector and to bring them to business life as experienced instructors who produce solutions in the field of education, to provide academic training that we consider the field needs. To contribute to the creation of the structure, to conduct scientific research, to produce knowledge in the field by organizing activities such as conferences and seminars, to disseminate the produced information through scientific publications, to create and strengthen the infrastructure of education systems that are thought to be appropriate given the location of Cyprus in a globalizing world where we have to adapt to technology. There are objectives such as contributing to the field of study and making it a non-partial, holistic scientific-managerial area of interest that will contribute to the discovery and development of more rational approaches, ways and methods by gaining a scientific basis and for widespread application.

Program Description

Students who graduate from the program will have a diploma from the Faculty of Education, Turkish Language Teaching Department. He will receive the title of “Turkish Teacher”.

Registration and Admission Conditions

Within the framework of the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is through the examination system conducted by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Student registration procedures are carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Every year, the Rectorate determines and announces the registration date, required documents and registration places for prospective students who will first register to the University, according to the units. Registration procedures are carried out by the Student Affairs Department. Final registration is not possible with incomplete documents or by mail. Those who are found to have falsified documents are not recorded. If it is determined that the recording has been made by mistake, the recordings will be deleted.

Graduation Requirements

In order for students accepted to the department to be entitled to a bachelor’s degree, they must fully meet the success conditions specified in the KAU – Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. In order to receive an undergraduate diploma, the student must have completed all credit and non-credit courses, compulsory internships and other practical obligations in the department’s undergraduate program, and the cumulative grade point average must not be below 2.00. The total number of undergraduate degree credits is 150. AKTC is 240. Students must graduate with a minimum GPA of 2.00 according to the 4-point grading system.

Employment Opportunities

Can work as a teacher in schools affiliated with National Education and private education schools. Can work in media organizations. With this program, students will be able to step into the future academically. Our graduates can teach in various educational institutions with the title of Turkish Teacher, as well as work as lecturers, lecturers and research assistants in relevant departments of universities. We can list these under headings as follows: – Public schools and private primary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education – Private teaching institutions – Media organizations – Diction and eloquence education – Comparative language studies – Solution of language problems in almost all other scientific fields – Archives and museums – They can be employed in World Turkology centers – Private and public organizations related to the Turkish Republics – Universities – Centers for Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language – Turkology and Turkish education departments in foreign countries – Turkish private schools abroad and universities.
