AUC Academic Dr. Emel Yılmaz’s Article Published in a Prestigious Scopus-Indexed International Journal

The work of Dr. Emel Yılmaz, a faculty member at the Department of Visual Communication and Design, Faculty of Fine Arts, American University of Cyprus, has been published in the International Journal of Environmental Sciences, a journal of international academic prestige.
Dr. Yılmaz, in his article titled “The Visible Face of Popular Culture: A Critique of the Culture Industry Through TV Competitions, Media Representations, and the Case of Nihal Candan,” presented a critique of the culture industry through TV competitions and media representations that are followed with interest by the masses in today’s society. The article critically examined the effects of media on audiences and the functioning of the culture industry, particularly through the example of Nihal Candan.
