AUC Strengthened Its Academic Presence at the 10th International Congress of Social Sciences

The American University of Cyprus (AUC), in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific and Educational Studies (ASES) and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University (NÖHÜ), once again reinforced its presence on the international academic platform by participating in the 10th International Social Sciences Congress held between 2-4 May 2025.
At the congress hosted by NÖHÜ, AUC Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alp Karaca and Foreign Relations Representative Dr. Emel Yılmaz attended the congress on May 2, 2025 at the invitation of ASES and represented AUC. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alp Karaca, who assumed the chairmanship of the session at the congress, and Dr. Emel Yılmaz prepared “A Research on the Current Use of Interior Arrangements in the Transformation Process of Historical Churches: The Case of St. George Church, Ayyios Yorgios Church and Ayorgi Church”, while Dr. Emel Yılmaz presented the paper titled ‘Media Representation of Femicide in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ in the same session.

Within the scope of the program, which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Emel Yılmaz, AUC academicians and students also made significant contributions to the congress with the presentation of academic studies prepared by graduate students Hascen Doğan Esenyel and Mehmetemin Yıldızçoban under the supervision of Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Head Assoc. Hascen Doğan Esenyel presented “Evaluation of Image, Creative Thinking and Color Theories from Modern Art to Contemporary Art in terms of the Use of Female Image” and Mehmetemin Yıldızçoban presented “Figures of Remembrance and Algorithm Based Art: Refik Anadol”. Sibel Serin Engindeniz, Çağrı Kurtbir, Ahmet Kurkmaz, Kağan Türegün, Selcan Oruç, Recep Cihan Ölçer and Bekir Bayburt, who are undergraduate students of Prof. Dr. Emel Yılmaz, contributed to the session with their jointly prepared works.
