AUC joined the Higher Education Vision Meeting Towards 2030.

The “Higher Education Vision Meeting Towards 2030” was held under the presidency of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar. The meeting, hosted by İzmir Katip Çelebi University was attended by rectors and high-level representatives from 43 universities in the Aegean Region, Mediterranean Region and Cyprus.

Rector of the American University of Cyprus (AUC) Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci and AUC General Secretary Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alp Karaca attended the “Higher Education Vision Meeting Towards 2030” on behalf of the university upon the invitation of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar. AUC Rector Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci expressed that they were honored to attend the Higher Education Vision Meeting Towards 2030, which was also attended by AUC under the presidency of YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar. Keçeci said that the issues of balancing new educational technologies with traditional education, quality assurance and global competition, academic motivation and scientific productivity, changing demographic structure and demand for university access, employment-sensitive programs, sustainability, internationalization and university collaborations are indicators of concrete steps in terms of international collaborations.

Alp Karaca said that it was a meeting that covered the Aegean and Mediterranean regions and brought together Turkish and Cypriot universities simultaneously on the same platform on a visionary basis. Karaca stated that the meeting made significant contributions to the development of internationalization and common economic development goals.
