The Faculty of Fine Arts: Shaping the Artists and Designers of Tomorrow
The American University of Cyprus Faculty of Fine Arts Fall Semester Student Projects Exhibition was opened at the Alayköy Campus on a platform where creative works in the field of art and design are compiled. The Fall Semester Student Projects Exhibition organized by the Visual Communication Design, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Plastic Arts, Ceramics, Glass and Tiling Departments affiliated to the Faculty of Fine Arts was appreciated by the audience. Rector of the American University of Cyprus and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Prof. Dr. Gökçe Keçeci stated in his statement that the Fall Semester Student Projects are an important sharing for the sector in the future and that the artists and designers of the future are trained under the leadership of professional staff who carry out academic, cultural and artistic projects. Faculty of Fine Arts Visual Communication Design Department Lecturer Gözde Kasapoğlu said that within the scope of the Introduction to Visual Design Course; corporate identity studies that carry the value of corporate identity were carried out. On the other hand, Lecturer Gözde Kasapoğlu noted that within the scope of the Desktop Publishing Course; magazine designs were made on topics of interest to each student and typographic placements were made by emphasizing the effective use of text and visuals within the scope of the exhibition. Under the supervision of Kemal Behçet Caymaz, students brought their creativity together in the exhibition where they discovered their talents. Caymaz said that in the Print Painting Course, the students took the portrait works of famous painters from the history of art and created their works with the “Linol Scratching” technique.
